
Jon Savitt is a multifaceted writer with a knack for humor + storytelling — backed by 15 years of experience.
An award-winning screenwriter, comedy writer, author, and creative strategist, he’s been featured in places like Funny or Die, New York Times, CollegeHumor, TIME, Washington Post, USA Today, NBC News, ESPN, Vulture, Forbes, and more.
Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jon got his start as a contributor for MTV and the popular comedy website CollegeHumor, before rapidly moving up the ladder and earning a role as a writer on the hit series "Good Mythical Morning".
Labeled as “one funny dude” by Will Ferrell’s Funny or Die, he’s made a name for himself as a writer and a performer. He’s toured with several long-form solo comedy shows and has performed at festivals across the country — Dallas Comedy Fest, Hawaii Comedy Festival, Omaha Comedy Festival, Plano Comedy Festival, SketchFest Seattle, Twin Cities Jewish Humor Festival — alongside talent seen on Netflix, Comedy Central, HBO, and more.
Jon has also optioned and sold multiple projects with three feature films currently in development. Throughout his career, his work has spanned from Hollywood to The White House, working in numerous writers’ rooms and collaborating with partners ranging from NBA All-Stars to U.S. Presidents while garnering billions of views and winning Webby and Streamy awards for writing contributions. Most recently, he served as the Head Writer for the comedy series, Zach and Dapp.
His humor book, “Unreal Athletes: Sports Legends You’ve Never Heard Of (Because They Don’t Exist)” was a #1 comedy release and can be found in stores nationwide.
Outside of writing, Jon hosts the late-night comedy game show “Never Too Late” and leads the Small Town Writers’ Room Initiative (a free mentorship program for emerging comedy writers). With years of advertising and strategy experience, he also serves as the Founder of Campfire, a storytelling studio serving attention-worthy brands and public figures.
His unique voice, writing style, and creative perspective have been honed through more than a decade of learning directly from top storytellers, including comedians, screenwriters, songwriters, advertising icons, late-night comedy writers, and presidential speechwriters.
